Camp Camp: Stylized Performance for Theatrical Improv

Sunday, May 12, 2024 @ 11:00 AM MDT • $75.00

Sturdy detectives, wilting ingenues, and sharp femme fatales: these are archetypes not just of the noir genre, but of the campy acting styles reminiscent of the mid 20th century. This workshop will help improvisers sharpen and create characters within these archetypes (and others) to level up the theatricality of their genre work. Dress comfy and be ready to histrionically faint!

Instructor: Caitlin Lopez served most recently as the Associate Artistic Director of Ophelia’s Jump Productions (OJP) in Southern California. A lifelong improviser, she has performed and taught regularly at OJP and as a former company member with late great Spectacles Improv Engine. She specializes in narrative genre work with teams such as Community Theatre 3000 and The Blankety Blank. Caitlin is currently an instructor and MFA Directing Candidate at Ohio University.
